Health benefits:
Improves gastric mucosal defense
Curcumin decreases gastric secretion and increases mucin content of the stomach. Thus, it promotes peptic ulcer healing and decreases the abdominal pain involved. It also exerts gastroprotective effects against ulcer formation induced by stress, alcohol, indomethacin, etc.

Supports healthy inflammatory response
Curcumin is a powerful anti-inflammatory ingredient. It inhibits COX-2, nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kB) activation and the arachidonic acid metabolism which are involved in inflammation. It also stimulates the release of adrenal corticosteroids. Curcumin down-regulates proinflammatory cytokines, inhibits nitrosamine formation and enhances the body’s natural antioxidant system.

Helps reduce iron overload
Messner et al. found that curcumin prevented iron-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and signaling of iron to several oxidative stress response pathways. Based on its ability to bind iron and on similar protective effects of iron chelating drugs, curcumin reduces iron loading of the cells significantly and contributes to effective neutralization of iron toxicity. It also alleviates pathology associated to oxidative stress in patients with various forms of thalassemia, decreases adverse effects of iron chelators or results in an increase in haemoglobin levels.

Prevents Alzheimer’s disease
Curcumin can inhibit the formation and extension of beta amyloid fibrils that typically characterize the Alzheimer’s disease. Due to curcumin’s antioxidant effect and powerful anti-inflammatory mechanisms, it is promising in fighting the ravages of aging and neurodegenerative diseases.

Promotes healthy blood vessel
Researchers observed that curcumin can lower plasma concentrations of sICAM, a molecule linked to atherosclerosis. It can lower cholesterol level and triglyceride level. It also inhibits platelet aggregation and increases fibrinolytic activity.

12 years and above – one tablet three times daily with meal
