What is longevity flavonoid?
Some flavonoids are potent senolytic improving numerous age-related conditions. Senolytics are effective at decreasing dysfunctional senescent cells in humans. Among the tested flavonoids, fisetin has been shown that was the most potent senotherapeutic effects in several cells. The highest concentration of fisetin is found in strawberry, apple, wax tree and smoke tree.

Scientific studies showed that fisetin activates SIRT-1 which is a gene that is related with long lifespan and is referred to as longevity gene. The result showed that improved tissue homeostasis and reduction in multiple age-related pathologies. It can reduce the expression of senescence markers in multiple organs as measured by qPCR.

Neuroprotective effect
Fisetin can increase the intracellular levels of glutathione and maintain mitochondrial function in the presence of oxidative stress. And it can also reduce amyloid beta fiber accumulation to improve memory. Thus, it maintains neuronal function by modulation of multiple pathways during aging. Fisetin has the ability to reduce the impact of age-related neurodegenerative diseases.

Effect on abnormal cell growth
In preclinical studies, fisetin has shown potential in preventing cancer and limiting the growth and spread of existing tumors. Fisetin significantly promoted colorectal cancer cell (CRC) apoptosis, arrested the cell cycle and suppressed CRC proliferation and migration induced by trypsin, partially through modulating NF-kB pathways and inhibiting trypsin activity.
