Composition:
Each capsule contains:
Organic calcium from marine algae ….. 400 mg
Vitamin D from dairy product …………… 400 IU (10 mcg)

Indications:

• Organic calcium supplement
• Osteoporosis

Calcium is essential for many functions in the body, including :

• Maintaining strong bones and healthy teeth
• Preventing bone loss associated with osteoporosis which is common in pre and postmenopausal women
• Needing for muscular growth and contraction
• Aiding the nervous system, especially in impulse transmission.
• Regulating the heart rate and helps to prevent cardiovascular disease.
• Serving as a protective factor against high blood pressure and colon cancer.
• Stimulating hormone secretion and blood clotting mechanism.

Dosage:
5-12 years   – one capsule once daily
13 years and above – one capsule two times daily before meal

Side effects:
Nausea, flatulence and constipation in some individuals

Contraindications:

• Hypercalcaemia and hyperparathyroidism

Drug interaction:

• Calcium supplements can have an antagonistic effect on the desired action of calcium channel blockers that could precipitate the re-emergence of arrhythmias.
• H₂ blockers and proton pump inhibitors can decrease the absorption of calcium salts.
• Calcium may decrease the absorption of quinolones and tetracyclines.
