Pomegranate (Punica granatum) extract …… 200 mg

Phytochemistry:
Pomegranate has been shown to contain 124 different phytochemicals. Among them, ellagitannins are bioactive polyphenols and the unique ellagitannin is punicalagin which is known the largest molecular weight polyphenol. These are not absorbed intact into the blood stream but are hydrolyzed to ellagic acid over several hours in the intestine and also metabolized into urolithins by gut flora, which are conjugated in the liver and excreted in the urine.

Pomegranate extract has been shown to act as a natural blood thinner. It prevents the hardening of the artery walls with excess fat. This helps to increase the flow of blood to the heart while also reducing arterial plaque.

Supportive treatment for tumors
Extensive research on bioactive substances in the pomegranate extract has shown potential application in the chemoprevention and treating common forms of tumor. The extract inhibits prostate tumor growth and decreases prostate specific antigen (PSA) levels.
