Soyamin®
Soy isoflavones
Composition:
Each caplet contains
Soy isoflavones from soybean extract ………………… 80 mg
Pharmacological actions:
Phytoestrogen supplement
Soy isoflavones are phytoestrogen which are plant derived non-steroidal compound. The natural estrogen receptor activity of soy isoflavones is considered an alternative to controversial hormone replacement therapy for post menopausal women (Sliva 2005). Soy isoflavones were found to significantly improve specific premenstrual syndrome symptoms including headache, breast tenderness and cramps in women study. (Bryant et al. 2005). The scientific studies provide evidence that soy isoflavones improve the severity of hot flashes, joint pain and vaginal dryness.
Antioxidant
Oxidative stress is believed to contribute to menopause and degenerative changes associated with aging and it is suggested that antioxidants such as soy isoflavones help to protect mitochondria against premature oxidative damage (Larkin et al. 2008).
Cardiovascular support
Clinical trials have reported improvements in cardiovascular risk biomarkers. There are many potential mechanisms by which soy isoflavones improve cardiovascular outcomes including reduction in total cholesterol and blood pressure (Rebholz et al. 2013).
