FAME Pharmaceuticals Profile
Location: FAME Pharmaceuticals is situated at
the corner of No(20) Mingyi Mahar Min Gaung Road and Nawaday Street,
Industiral zone (3), in the Hlaing Thar Yar City of Industry.Yangon,
MYANMAR(BURMA).
Establishment: FAME Pharmaceuticals has been
established since 1994 and construction works of the Factory were
completed at the end of 2001.
Production: Initially, the pilot scale
production was started on 1st January 2002 by manufacturing Natural
Medicinal products. After the successful pilot scale production, large
scale production has begun in February 2002. All products of FAME
Pharmaceuticals are natural, organic, genuine and highly effective. The
products range indicated from minor skin abrasion to major diseases like
malaria, tuberculosis, cancer and HIV.
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP): Using
modernised technology, FAME Pharmaceuticals Factory produced good
quality products under the guidlines laid down by WHO-GMP and the
factory becomes the first pharmaceutical factory to receive GMP
certificate in January 2003 from Ministry of Health of the Union of
Myanmar.
Integrated Management System (IMS): Apart from
having GMP certificate from Ministry of Health FAME has also received
Integrated Managerment System (Three United kingdom Accreditations
system), Certified by BVQI, receiving,
-ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management )in 2002,
-ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management )in 2007 and
-OHS AS 18001:1999 (Occupational Safety and Health Management System) in
2007
Organization and Set-up: Management and
Administration is headed by the Managing Director. Board of Directors
and General Managers acts as responsible persons for their respective
disciplines. FAME Pharmaceuticals Factory is well organized with 20
Professionals Scientists such as Medical Doctors, Pharmacists,
Biochemists, Chemists, Botanists, Microbiologists and Traditional
Medicine Specialists; 50 Supportive Technical staff such as Engineers
and Accountants; 140 manual staff making a total of 210.
International and National Linkages: FAME has
also received many International and National awards for its quality and
technology. FAME has affilication with scientists from Germany, United
Kingdom and Australia. Research projects on Developments and Quality
controls are carried out in collaboration with Bio-Technopark, Berlin,
Germany; British Herbal Association, United Kingdom;University of New
South Wales, Australia; University of Yangon; Yangon Technological
University; and Department of Medical Research, Ministry of Health,
Yangon.
Sales and Marketing: Manufacturing many
evidence based Natural Medicinal Products, FAME is well known for its
products on Quality, Safety and Efficacy. Products are produced not only
for local market but also for exports to neighbouring ASEAN countries
and various foreign countries including Japan, Korea and Germany.
